Why You Should Check Your Certification And Regulations.

In the August edition of their electrical industry news, Sparks discusses why you should have the right certification and regulations in place. “Product certification” according to Sparks, “ensures that products meet the relevant local, national or international regulatory standards. Globally, electrical products are required to meet strict safety, environmental and performance standards” because without these, there are distinct risks of injury or death to users.

Sparks also outlines the various regulatory bodies governing the use of products and their usage and explains why these are important. They also warn about the danger of using products that do not have the necessary Letter of Authority (LOA), RCC (Regulation Compliance Certificate) or – if necessary – Sales Permit (SP) may result in unnecessary time being wasted in constant callbacks from clients, or potential harm to either the electrical contractor, or a team member, or even the property owner. Moreover, the use of products that are not certified may result in the nullification of a COC, which has far-reaching consequences.

Make sure that the products you use are certified by the correct regulatory bodies before undertaking any project or repairs!
